Dear Parents,
Pat McCann, SNA in the school for many years is retiring this year after contributing hugely to the school and to the lives of many children in her care. We are very sad to see her go and will feel the loss of her experience and her warm and caring nature. We would like to wish Pat the very best in her retirement. Tomorrow morning, Thursday 19th June, the Parents Association will make a presentation to Pat on behalf of all the parents in the school at the 8.50 Assembly.

- A reminder that High Street Books and Laura’s (school uniforms) will be on sale in the School on Friday 20th June from 8.30am until 2.40 pm. Book lists have been issued today.
- In recognition of your wonderful support throughout the year the PA are holding a Children’s Disco, for Shanbally students, on Friday June 20th in Pfizer’s Sports Hall from 7-9pm. Tickets on sale all week from the PA.
- Sun-screen advice: with the current fine weather most classes have been working outside for part of the day, aside from lunch breaks. We would suggest that sunscreen be applied to uncovered areas of skin and a sun-hat also would help protect the children.
- Junior Infant Teacher, Sinead Ní Loingsigh, leaves us for next year to partake in a teacher exchange programme with ST. Pius BNS, Terenure, Dublin. Therefore, Marion O’Donovan, who is listed above is exchanging with her for the year. Marion is an outstanding teacher with great experience at various levels, especially Junior and Senior Infant level. We look forward to welcoming her to Shanbally on Friday next when she will meet the incoming Junior Infant Class.
Of course we wish Sinead the very best for the year ahead and thank her for her wonderful contribution to our school to date.
Thank you,
David Nolan
